As we walked in, through the gates.
The feeling was strong, we couldn't wait
To try the ride, which was the reason we were here.
The big, almighty Stratosfear.

It swings its passengers, round and round.
There?s no way out when you?re off the ground.
360 degrees, around it whirls
Everyone screams, boys and girls.

I approached with caution, full of terror.
I would never do it, ever!
This was all I thought of throughout the tedious wait.
I was glad of the company of my classmates.

We were nearing the gate, it was nearly our turn.
I could literally see my stomach churn.
It was about to start, and I wanted to shout;
?Is there any way now that I can back out??

I was sitting down, strapped to my seat.
I could see the sweat coming down my cheek.
I felt as though I was about to die
How could I survive being hurled to the sky?

We heard the noise, our friends called ?Have fun!?
And we started to swing, getting closer to the sun.
And as we got higher I started to dread
What I would feel like, upside down on my head.

But as the ride went on, I stared with disbelief.
Swinging, so gently, like a breeze pushing a leaf!
It was then that I realised something was wrong
This ride didn?t seem to be as long.

I had missed the instructions stated on the sign
There was, in fact, two rides with their own separate line
I had gone to the left, others to the right.
My choice had led me to the ride with less fright.

And as I got off, later in the day
I found I wasn?t tall enough anyway
To go on the ride that went 360 degrees
Around in a circle, that pushed against the breeze.

The relief was a wave that washed over my face.
And after seeing my classmates, I rested my case
When they came off the ride, they were either pale or green!
Do it again? They weren?t at ALL keen!

As we left the theme park to hop on the bus
We knew that this day was great for all of us!
We enjoyed our day at Rainbows End,
And we all wished we could do it all over again!
